Make a Routine
The world is full of chaotic distractions (from the news and social media to meaningless entertainment). A routine acts as a defense system, isolating you from this noise and keeping you focused on what truly matters for you.
A routine is a loop that repeats day after day, is a space where the magic of depth and improvement emerges, keeping you focused and disciplined in order to reach your goals.
It's not about being productive all the time. Rather, the routine creates the conditions for your work to flow automatically, without depending on wheter you area motivated or inspired.
Make a Diary or Blog
One of the best ways to establish a routine and know wich direction to take is to have a notebook or diary. It's not a diary in the classic sense, but rather a kind of simple log that serves as your map and compass.
It's a place where you can document your journey day by day, what you are doing, what you like, the project you are working on, the book you are reading, the music you are listening to, the places you travel, the insteresting people you meet, the art you discover, the sciencie or technology you encounter, or wathever else inspires you.
It's the place where you mind and thoughts are cleansed. It's the antithesis of social media, it's not necessary for it to be nice or well-structured, it's just about putting your thoughts on paper, throwing out the mental trash, and letting the ideas and creativity emerges.
Focus day by day
If you think about to completing a big project, it can be overwhelming, the idea is simple: reduce your focus to a single, more manageable unit of time, day by day. What little things will you do today to advance your work? Write a short paragraph, draw a sketch, program a section of a website, o maybe read for 15 minutes. Progress is constant.
The success isn't a lucky break, it's the result of many "day by days".
